Capability Development involves building up the R&D and technology base for the E&W sector and at the same time, developing the necessary talent and manpower to meet the needs of this growing and innovative sector.
Environment and Water Research Programme (EWRP)
The EWRP ensures a co-ordinated national approach to accelerating R&D in the environment and water industry through project funding. The programme will identify areas of research and technological development needed to position Singapore as a global leader in water technologies.
EWRP provides funding to both the industry and academic/research communities for basic and applied research projects which pursue innovative and novel ideas. These projects would need to have recognizable potential for commercialization of the new processes, technologies or products. All Singapore-based companies, tertiary education institutions, research institutes and public agencies are eligible to apply. There are two funding schemes under the EWRP:
- Innovation Development Scheme (IDS)
- Incentive for Research & Innovation Scheme (IRIS)
EWRP provides grants to support costs arising from the projects such as manpower, training, equipment investment and professional services costs.
